God has called First Baptist Groesbeck to love him, love people, and serve the world (Matthew 22:37-40; 28:18-20). In this call, we seek to love the star-breathing-God-of-the-universe by connecting with him in worship, through a relationship with Jesus Christ, that we might walk away changed and transformed into more hues of righteousness and joy.
We believe having this communion with God allows us to better love and have community with other. This loves goes beyond working and doing life next to one another, it is a boisterous, attentive, authentic, compassionate, sit-across-the table kind of love. This sort of love allows us to share life's triumphs, difficulties, and everywhere in between within the context of Christ.
Finally, we desire to serve the world, not from religious duty, or humanitarian convictions, but because our Lord came to serve and not be served (Matthew 20:28). Because Jesus is the joy and outflow of the christian thought and action, our only response in loving him is by serving him by serving people.
We like to meet up every Sunday morning in a building at 306 N Ellis St, and sing some songs, shake some hands, say some encouraging things, but most importantly we sit and listen to the Word of God being preached that we might better know our savior and creator. Sunday morning we have two services, one at 8:15 and the other at 10:45. In between these, there is Sunday school starting at 9:30. You can find more about these classes by clicking here or on the ministries tab!
Outside of Sunday mornings, Wednesday night is our other main gathering meeting from 6-7:30! There are classes for the whole family for all ages from 0-100+. Click here to find out more about them!
